An Amazon steamboat for Leipzig Zoo

Our Amazon steamboat play ship is the highlight of the new "El Dorado" play area at Leipzig Zoo – alongside a parrot seesaw, two wobbly rafts, a wobbly canoe, an extra-wide hammock, a climbing course, three piranha spring toys and a crocodile spring toy from Ziegler Spielplätze. The young zoo visitors enthusiastically stormed the robinia wood steamboat, which is available to them in the South American themed world.

Spanning three floors, the play structure offers a variety of attractions: a stainless steel tube slide, two large playable paddle wheels and many small hand-carved details. A rotating steering wheel on deck, a captain's hat and a compass show how much care and attention to detail has gone into this project. In addition, the "small" crew can keep in touch between the robinia wood bridge and the engine room via a hose telephone.

"We wanted to provide the zoo with an original piece of playground equipment that would blend in beautifully with the South American theme, be attractive and offer great play value. We think we've succeeded," said Günther Ziegler, managing director of Ziegler Spielplätze, commenting on the rush at the opening.
